Developing the waterfront

The River Soar and Grand Union Canal offer enormous potential for attractive waterside development. Plans for the waterfront include a mix of housing, offices and leisure space based around a new marina. The inner ring road will be downgraded and an extended New Walk will create a pedestrian link with the city centre. This will make the river more accessible and create an exciting new living and working environment for Leicester.
